After last weeks exciting $100million+ jackpot I do agree with the feedback that is a lot of money for one person.
Firstly, let me get one thing out the way with this new lottery vs old lottery dispute.
In theory the old lottery was good, you pay 100 turns and for life you get a free hit at the daily lottery to win up to 100k i think it was. Indeed that was a good deal, but it wasn't helping the economy. That lottery was coded by a friend around 3 years ago when we were in college, it's a good system but it's no good with the game as it is now. The new lottery does 3 things. It takes some money out the game & gives a more fun higher jackpot for people to try and win. Last Saturday night there was over 150 people watching the lottery page on the main reset, that has never happened before. In summary, It helps the economy, it excites people, and makes lucky people very rich without damaging the economy. The old lottery will not be put back in, so learn to enjoy this one!
Okay now onto what's new in version 2.1. 2nd and 3rd place winners! After reading the feedback i do believe that one person winning that huge jackpot is a bit too much. So as suggested I have added 2nd and 3rd place winners too. Here's how it breaks down:
1st place: 60% of jackpot
2nd place: 30% of jackpot
3rd place: 10% of jackpot.
I hope you agree this is a good step forward for the lottery, and I look foward to see how it plays out this saturday night.
I'll play with the lottery page layout of the previous winners as time goes on as i can't make my mind up how it should be displayed yet.

I would have no problem spending 100 mil ;) With that said, having 3 winners is a more productive way to keep encouragement in the lottery. Guess there won't be rollovers now?

I think this is a better idea. But as Tessa said, people will find something to complain about. I hope roll-overs get more frequent because that is exciting. More prizes for the winners.
i wanna know how the lottery actually works. like what decides what ticket wins and what decides what tickets get what prize? what if the selector thing selects the same ticket twice and it gets 1st and 2nd prize?

So if a rollover happens, does the entire lottery rollover? Or could specific places rollover while others win? I wanna see 1st rollover while people win 2nd and 3rd, that would be amusing to no end. :P
So what about a daily lottery where you buy tickets on a daily basis, but with prizes similar to the old lottery?
"Too Big of a payout for 1 person" LOL isn't that the defination of a lottery? The whole idea behind a lottery is the CHANCE to win BIG... Seems kind of retarded that the best you can hope for is 60%... not to mention the loss $ in what you shave off to remove some $ from the game. It's just my 2 cents, but I can tell you that I won't bother buying any tickets for a "lottery" that isn't worth it's beans.
Sounds good, I definitely think this will help stimulate our economy even more. But I too wonder about the rollovers and how that will play out (won't regurgitate the questions as they're already up there).
Watch evryone flip if the same person wins 1st and 2nd place, due to buying a large amount of tickets.

The idea of second and third winner is awesome. Display will make a good job if gets prettier and easier on the eye. System works fine in my eyes and I shall keep investing in the fun of the lottery ;)
