Lots Of Little Updates

From time to time it's good to just sit back from big new features and upgrades, and concentrate on the little things that make certain tasks much more fluid. Today's post is filled with just that, little updates and a couple new small features.

New Coven Panel

A coven panel was suggested a while ago, and today you're going to see it happen. If you navigate to your "home" page, you'll see your 3 panels. Game, social & RP. Now, next to game, you have a coven panel where you can quickly view your coven and your activity in regards to your coven.

  • View all your coven stats, from money/exp donated to forum posts
  • View all coven news related to your own activity
  • View all lent equipment and money you currently owe to the coven
  • View online coven vampires
  • Coven announcements section embeded on the page

The coven stats section on the game panel will stay for quick reference, no need to remove it as people check that out regularly.

Achievement List Edits

As discussed in the forums, the $X money in bank achievements are counter-productive when it comes to maintaining the flow of the economy. It somehow completely crossed my mind that this would halt spending of IG cash, so I have decided to remove these achievements from list 6 and 7 and replaced them with something else. If you've already unlocked them, consider that a free QP. (The new tasks will be automatically ticked off when completed.)

New Quests

A few new quests for you to sink your teeth into this week.

  • Demon Slayer (duration quest)
  • Demon Slayer II (duration quest)
  • Demon Slayer III (duration quest)
  • Credit Hoarder (rank 75 quest)
  • Credit Hoarder II (rank 75 quest)
  • Credit Hoarder III (rank 75 quest)
  • Credit Hoarder IV (rank 75 quest)
  • Credit Hoarder V (rank 75 quest)
  • Ticket Addict (rank 75 quest)
  • Power Craze (rank 75 quest)
  • Power Craze II (rank 75 quest)
  • Power Craze III (rank 75 quest)
  • Random Potion (rank 75 quest)
  • Random Potion II (rank 75 quest)
  • Random Potion III (rank 75 quest)
  • Killtacular VI (rank 75 quest)
  • Killtacular V (rank 75 quest)
  • Killtacular VI (rank 75 quest)

And The Rest...

Below are a list of small updates/changes/fixes I've made. I hope you appreciate them.

  • When replying to a comment, you can see the comment you're replying to
  • ALL House owners/mods can now delete individual forum posts
  • Fixed a bug in regards to the battle news VIP icon
  • You can now list blood letters that have been flagged
  • Coven confirm kick option added
  • You can now search by ID in coven news activity
  • Updated all the home [panel] pages so the top content is the same
  • Added deletion checkbox to the search blood letters page

On a side note, the lottery jackpot has rolled over twice. This week's 3 winners are going to get a very tidy sum of cash. Make sure you've got a few tickets for a chance to win. It won't rollover 3 times in a row!

Enjoy the week,
Ash

New Achievements Lists & Blood Hour

Achievements List 6 & 7

For all those that have been hacking away at achievements list 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, you now have list 6 & 7 to complete. Another 15 set achievements in each list for the higher ranked, high powered players to complete. Each gives a QP as well as handsome prizes for completion. List 6 is a little late this year, so to make it up to you, list 7 is early. Click here to view the list of list 6.

I have made one small change with list 6 & 7 over the previous lists. There is now a link to click to check if you've reached any of the milestones set in the achievements list. This will 1) Stop you from missing the fact you got an achievement if you click onto the next page too fast. 2) Gives you the opportunity to see what achievements you've unlocked 3). avoids adding extra load on certain pages to automatically see if targets are met. I hope you prefer it this way too.

Blood Hour

As suggested in the forums (and very much liked by other posters) I have decided to implement the 'power hour' idea. Although it will be named 'Blood Hour'. How it works is pretty simple. On the main midnight reset  the system will choose a random hour for when Blood Hour will be active that next day. It will never be a set hour (due to lack of excitement and time zone differences), it will change every single day. One day it could be 2am, the next could be 4pm. Even I won't know when it will be, as it'll be completely randomly chosen.

When that hour comes to pass, there will be the Blood Hour logo sat on top of the battle and arena pages. 5 minutes before Blood Hour is due to go active, a pending message will appear on the top of the arena pages so you have a few minutes before top of hour to know if it will be Blood Hour or not.

What happens when it is Blood Hour? Simple. x2 blood on all PvP battles.

There are plenty of places we can take this idea to help give even more excitement at random times throughout the day, I'll see what the feedback is for this first.

Daily Reminder Page

Even though my efforts of reducing lag (its an ongoing process) has met some resistance, especially in regards to claiming things manually. I have setup a section of your daily to-do list page to show all the things that are claimable, and how long you left until you can claim them. I have added your daily to-do list to the top of everyone's drop down menu. For those that don't like the claiming, I hope this is a good step in the right direction help stop you forgetting to claim things.

Poll

Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out the poll the other day, I sat down this morning and read through every one of them and added lots of things to my list :)

Enjoy the rest of the week,
Ash

Power Potions (Updated)

Thanks to everyone who donated during the birthday event, and I hope you enjoyed the event and the 'Free Plasma Day'. Lets move on, shall we!

Power Potions

Edited note: Due to the amount of requests from the users of the old MP single stat powers, I have decided to add them into this new system. As for MP itself, I apologise for the mix up, but the fact you could indeed stack MP was an unknown bug. It was never reported so I had no idea of its existence, hence why MP now works the way it does, for that I apologise. When redeeming MP, it sets your MP to what you should have, and not stack it. However, from this moment on I will compromise and allow you to stack up to 2000 MP (from buying Trik's potions, redeeming MP will set it at 200/300/400 regardless.) One last point, people complain about the hourly reset lag (and rightly so) but things can't improve unless we take off unnecessary things which slow it down, which can be redeemed in other ways (Like MP, motivation). Can't have it both ways.

All the current features (which have been edited) are listed again below.

I first announced vampire powers back in 2008, which was very well received as a good free way to temporarily increase your stats. Even more so was version 2 when I introduced the percentage increases, which made people want to continue working on their stats for even further temporary boosts for the same price. I would now like to introduce version 3, and a re-brand.

Vampire Powers have been re-branded as power potions. Following in the footsteps of Trik's potions, a whole new set of potions specific for temporarily increasing your stats is now at your disposal. It works almost the same as the previous vampire power system, with a few extra little perks, and simplified.
  • Although the majority of people use the "all" stats, each individual stat boosts are available again.
  • In order to help free up the hourly resets a bit more, MP must be claimed manually. Once every 24 hours you can claim 200 MP (300 for VIP, 400 for VIP+). These cannot be stacked. So you must use your all MP in order to claim more the next day, or lose what you have. If you miss a day, you are unable to re-claim the lost MP. An extra little thing to reward activity.
  • You use can the Potion Credits you buy over at Trik's to "double up" on powers. For example, a 2% power has a 1 Potion Credit fee to double it to 4%. Each power has different credit costs in order to use this double up feature. This should increase the value of credits and get people trading them even more.
  • Power potions now last for one hour instead of ten minutes!
  • Battle boosts (home page) tab now show active Trik's and power potions.
  • A warning added when redeeming that all current MP will be lost. (I.E Use all you have before redeeming)
  • You are allowed to stack (via potions) up to 2000 MP. (Please note if you redeem any MP whilst you have this amount, it will be lost)

Head over to the new Power Potions Store at the Dead City for more info. You can claim today's MP right away. There is a FAQ page you should read on the power potions page before using.

Some due stuff coming very soon. Enjoy the weekend,
Ash

It works almost the same as the previous vampire power system, with a few extra little perks, and simplified.

- Due to a recent poll I took, the high majority of you only used the "All" powers. So I've decided to scrap the individual stats, and just have an "all" stats upgrade.

- In order to help free up the hourly resets a bit more, MP must be claimed manually.

- Power potions now last for one hour instead of ten minutes!

- Battle boosts (home page) tab now show active Trik's and power potions.

Keep in mind - If you have MP stored, do not redeem anymore MP. As it will update your MP to your daily limit, not add it on top. Use any MP you have before redeeming.

Head over to the new Power Potions Store at the Dead City for more info. You can claim today's MP right away. There is a FAQ page you should read on the power potions page before using.

Enjoy the weekend,
