Vampire Powers V2

Vampire powers were added back in December 2008 (Wow time has gone fast). This type of feature was highly suggested and it turned out to be a great hit. But that was 2008, this is 2010. So I present to you V2 of the vampire powers. Since January 2009 over half a million powers have been activated. That shows people like and use them!

Vampire powers now work to compliment your current stats.. V1 adds an exact amount to your stats (I.E +5, +50 etc). But that's changing. So I present V2.

What's different? Well stats are now added in terms of PERCENT%. MP cap has been increased, and you can now activate only 2 powers at a time.

Head over to the vampire powers page to check it out.

Here is a screenshot:

What about MP?
As you can tell the benefits are much greater now, so in turn the MP cost has increased slightly. Its up to you whether you want to unleash a mega attack every other day or so or use small powers more regularly. This gives you more room and options for your strategies.  The MP rate of 10/hour is still in place (VIP+ members get an extra 5 an hour remember). The cap has been increased to 400 for everyone.

Pretty cool huh? More powers and tweaks may be made (you've been warned), but we'll see how this runs to start with.

Remember that the lottery jackpot as I said last week will get an extra $10million on the already nearly $100million jackpot for this Saturday. It's going to be a good one.

Enjoy!
Ash

very good ash.

How do Ii get MP?
You get 10 MP an hour with a 400 cap, you cannot get MP any other way.

Already a spelling error. :P

Looking good Ash.

Can I ask you to explain how stacking works?

Say 15% of 1000 activated, then 10% activated, does it stack to 10% of your base stats or 10% of your stats AND the already counted 15%?

DarkAsh said...

It works out all your powers total % first.

So if you have a 10% power activated and a 5% activated. It will see there is a total of 15% boost. It then takes your speed which is 1000 for example and adds 15% on top of it. Giving you 1150.

WooT!!! This is going to be fun, fun, fun Ash! Thanks again for tweaking something that now gives more incentive to train ... and which can be calculated to increase powers based on that. I love that it's a percentage now! Thanks!!! *bows down*

Percentages ... nice one Ash :)

Thanks Ash, but no thanks. Vampire powers are for pussies.

oooo tough guy @ above comment. Too cool for powers eh?

Nervotis said...

What a douche. I simply love morons.

Nice job on the powers, Ash. It's a great thing. Now time to do rank 100 MP.

Shadow Stalker said...

So this linking MP to stats has nothing to do with encouraging players to buy plasma in these ever increasing specials? incentive to train eh?...yeah right :d

You should edit Vampire Powers FAQ at the bottom of powers page, which still says - You can activate up to 3 at any one time.

Are they still active for only ten minutes or are you going to increase that too by a few extra minutes anytime soon?

I like this. True some players will be stronger than they are but hell, the ones that matter are already stronger than me so cudo's to the update!

Anonymous said...

Way to go you just made the strongest players in the game even stronger than ever before. Percentages really put the screws to players with lower stats. You want people to rank or train? Make up our minds. .

Anonymous said...

Wtf! Here comes more money in your pocket. Way to go greedy bastard.

It cracks me up how players will trash talk and act tough but not put their name or ID up when giving feedback.....Cowards.

%'s are fine ... keep those ... but if u have stats ur not gunna be helped that much anyway ... keep the +250 at level 100 for others .. and boost that up for higher levels as well ... I gave you this idea years ago ... at least dont take it away from me ... I just lost over 100 targets

LOVE this! This will be great when I start ranking up! Good idea Ash!

Powers could still be better than they are. Overall, I'm not impressed

Hum... Let's give it a spin!

Wow, cool! This is a pretty awesome idea!

Great Ash. So now that you are done fixing things that don't need fixing, you should have plenty O' time to fix the bugs that have been reported and have gone untouched!

Love it Ash - Nice one. :)

Huh... Have to see how this goes. It didn't necessarily SEEM bad at first glance, but... looking over some of the comments.... This really does seem to create an even bigger gap between newer and much older players. :/ I want to see (a) change(s) that bridge[/i] that gap in the near future.....

You need to tune up the MP recovery, it takes almost 2 days now to recharge your MPs. Of course if your goal is to force people to become VIP+ they still take over 24 hours to recover MP. You either need to reduce the MP cost for powers or increase the recovery rate.

To 'Anonymous' two comments above - Age in this game is hardly rewarded when rank can be bought - Your comment makes no sense. What this change *does* do is go some small way to rewarding those who think about how they play.

Anonymous said...

Which, Tiger, begins to go into putting RL money into this game, etc. Perhaps some don't think of how to play the game, but some still do. It indeed does make sense. Two sensible players who do the same thing, but one joins a year earlier. Um, hello. Their character, stats, etc etc is going to be higher, bottom line. This new change indeed and in fact does create a gap between newer and older people.

As to the other comment, the update says this:

"As you can tell the benefits are much greater now, so in turn the MP cost has increased slightly. Its up to you whether you want to unleash a mega attack every other day or so or use small powers more regularly. This gives you more room and options for your strategies. The MP rate of 10/hour is still in place (VIP+ members get an extra 5 an hour remember). The cap has been increased to 400 for everyone."

The long recharge time is intentional, with VIP+ just getting their MP filled a bit faster.

Vampire powers isn't something to be used every hour, or really every day. Its a one of treat every other day or so where you can really just kill the people you cant usually kill. This won't effect the balance of new players vs old players because its not like you can use these things every hour (with great effect)

Anonymous said...

Hmmm.. I see your/that point as well. Again, I don't want to judge it too fast; I'm waiting to see how I goes. Just, once the difference in powers was mentioned, I could also see it being a potential... not sure what would be the right word, but yeah. >_>; Anyway, as with everything, there's always more than one side. This is no different. Time will tell.

Thanks, Ash.

I agree with the person who said "Great Ash. So now that you are done fixing things that don't need fixing, you should have plenty O' time to fix the bugs that have been reported and have gone untouched!" the MP was just fine, you should fix things that actually need fixing

Anonymous said...

Since it so rarely helps in an outcome of a battle I never use it. Guess fixing it was a good idea.

Guildythewicked said...

Nice job Ash. I agree 100 % with Legion.

Yet again anonymous haters. Will they ever learn? Want to be taken seriously post your ID.

BTW to the anonymous who wants a Bridge between older and newer players: What makes you think there should be. Seems to me time spent in game, training should make one stronger than a new player just starting out. Since THAT seems to have been burned, with the advent of plasma packs, why shouldn't the older, longer members have a little bit of an advantage?

DAMN THE PLASMA JUNKIES

Anonymous said...

Yea right,I can have far bigger powers more than you people I only have to have my AP's 250 gained per a level 850 AP's multiplied for two networth 6500 to 15325 If you're donator.Try to have that added into the game
