Enough of that... now some of this!

*Was slightly unprepared for the previous blogs uproar* Saying that, I'm going to push it aside for a bit...

I wiped my whiteboard clean today, and wrote my RoB to-do's on there, Jesus there is a lot... filled the entire board. I would love to take a photo and show you, but that would ruin any surprises i have coming up :P

Of course i am still powering my way through getting these covens finished, never realised how much code there was too them!

Someone mentioned in the last blog about new servers, yes correct i paid for and ordered 2 bloody huge servers to be added to RoBs current 2-server-network. That was in April! Had confirmation that they would be sorted and delivered by the 18th May... i have yet to get in contact with them. Apparently the supplier had a huge order from another customer that ordered first blah blah. But the answer is, soon. I want them installed as much as you did! A FASTER RoB is a BETTER RoB. Good news is my year subscription of them starts when they're installed so i'm not wasting money paying for...well nothing.

But rest assured lots of stuff is planned, and now i have finished Uni i do have extra time!

On an unrelated note, this blog is for all RoB updates/announcements etc etc. I have created myself a personal blog thing which is where i report not just RoB stuff, but everything i do, i thought I'd give it a try, never been much of a blogger but if you're interested the URL is:

http://darkashnet.blogspot.com/

If i get readers/followers I'll keep it up. See who finds my extremely exciting life entertaining lol.

Enjoy the week, i know i will!

Ash

I hope we can simply add our playlist . com's URL so we can still have the tunes in the profiles, besides that, some pictures in each profile(less than 10) don't hurt any one or any decent browser/comp.

if the goal is make the game faster by limiting pages info and save broadband(such as no videos, no pics, no mp3 files, etc) big mistake, since every day internet speeds are increasing, and there are newer and faster servers(and not soo expensive also), so hopefully you Ash dont do what Feltash did on his game(DW) by removing mp3 on profile and allowing only those crappy MIDI files(aka as ringtones :P)

PS. Give me a cent to earn a dollar!

That conversation is over... for now. It's not be discussed on another blog post lol. And the reason is not because of slow profiles, don't assume that... I'm saying they would be faster if they didn't have all the stuff on them... not that that IS the reason for taking it off.

But enough, no more of that conversation here.

Congratulations on being done at university!

What do we talk about? I want to write a long post, longer than anyone *coughs* "LR"! But I need something to go on. I need fuel for my fire!

One thing that I would like changed is the # of transactions allowed on the market. Before it was unlimited, and now it is limited to 10.

I understand the reasoning behind it, but 10 transactions is way too low. For those that have gotten bored with everything else in RoB, and find it interesting to "play the market", being limited to 10 transactions per day stinks. Lets not have it turn into another gravemarket where it is completely boring.

The idea here should be to have things in the game that are worth coming on routinely to check on. ie. Market prices on AP, Plasma, Weapons, Armour, etc. Makes it fun to be competitive in a quest to build a bigger bank. Another good idea would be to have the gravemarket (stocks) update every hour, rather then once a day. Again, this would give people a reason to spend time on the site and in the game.

Kicking Members Out
--------------------
When I kick a member out of my coven, I want his/her lent items to come back to the coven. Could this be considered?

Gifts
------
What about a necklace and earings?

Anonymous said...

Sosa just wants to be able to give people dirty pearl necklaces lol

Sosa the Terrible said...

LMAO. So true, so true. I want to give you a dirty pearl necklace while I'm kicking your ass out of my coven. Boo-yeah!

DarkAsh said...

No, that would not be fair on the player. If you kick them because the go inactive, then when their account is deleted for inactivity the equipment will be returned automatically.

Anonymous said...

I'm just curious how it isn't fair on the player, that if they have done something earns them getting kicked from the coven that he weapon/armor that the coven LENT them, doesn't get returned. That's kinda like saying that if you let a house guest borrow your car, if they ever do anything that you kick them out of the house for they have the right to take your car... "it's only fair".

Sosa the Terrible said...

Yeah? bullshit Ash. If I gave weapons to a player and I deem then unworthy to be in my coven for breaking requirements, I want my shit back and a boot in their ass. The only thing I'll give 'em is a dirty pearl necklace! Excuse me for liking to run a tight ship.

Lucidious Rage said...

Well, at least you are living up to your name "Sosa the Terrible"... But I think there might be better ways to *encourage* Ash to reconsider his position on the matter then being abrasive to him.

I disagree with Ash's assessment as well, (the post about the Car was from me, I accidently submitted as anonymous) but no need to make an ass of yourself in an attempt to force him into a change.

Ash is a reasonable person.

Ash, I would like to know what your justification is though as to why they should get to keep *Lent* equipment when/if they get kicked out of the coven?

I can't really think of any good reason why they should be entitled to it. I mean, if they were kicked because they screwed up and broke rules, then they definately shouldn't get to keep it. If they were kicked because of inactivity (but not breaking rules) - and the weapons/armor were returned to the coven - Then one could assume that if they re-joined the coven when they becamse active again that the coven would gladly re-lend them equipment.

Either way, it really should be up the the party that the equipment is lent from as to whether or not to allow the person to keep using it. Isn't that why there are two options, Lend, and Give?

Please help me understand your reasoning.

Thanks!

Thank you LR, I'll take that as a compliment. I'm not "Terrible" for nothing. Don't take it personal you guys, but having a spicy tongue makes the wheels turn. If Ash has a valid comeback or reason, I'm very open minded, fair and objective and will admit when I'm wrong. Yet, I still enjoy being Terrible!

Ash, while I will miss the coven background music, I can see how removing HTML for the moment is a good idea and the new servers will be nice... Thanks for all of your hard work and for providing a community. I apologize for the people complaining about a FREE site they CHOOSE to use. Thanks again!

why are you appologizing for other people, Revan? I hope you aren't refering to me and LR, because we support RoB through our donations! Welcome to my enemy list you pissant.

Sosa, do you by aby chance play any other online games? you remind me a guy calling himself Diablo, :P

Sosa the Terrible said...

Nope. I only play and support RoB. I don't have time in my busy schedule for any other games having to work and care for a daughter. Although, I'll take that as a compliment being likened to Diablo as my avatar represents Lucifer.

DarkAsh said...

I guess you could say that its down to your risk to lend out the equipment in the first place. If you think *realistically*, someone joins your group/gang/clan etc, and they go inactive, aka never go back to the *base* or whatever you'll never get the equipment back because they would not be there to take it back....

That's just how i see it anyway.

And besides, it took Buds a lot of convincing to get me to return equipment when they're deleted for inactivity, i think they should get removed with the players...

But that's just me i guess.

Sosa the Terrible said...

From a "Missing In Action" point of view, that makes sense. But what if you had to kick someone out becuase they were a "Spy", "Theif" or broke a coven law? How would we strip them of thier "gun & badge"?

Aftershock "Spot" said...

Ash, there's a lend feature for equipment, and there is a give feature for the equipment.
The only difference at the moment is basically it causes problems with players getting stuck with equipment from their old coven and not wanting to leave their current coven, return to their old coven (most times they have been booted and wouldn't be allowed back in anyway), donate the equipment back, and then go back to their current coven.

When someone is kicked from a coven, and they still have lent equipment, it does cause issues, and it is something you need to review and sort out.
If you don't want it to take the lent equipment off the members when they are being kicked, then gimme a message on msn and we'll work something out that will solve the problem but still piss alot of people off... You know how good I am at that ;)

To Sosa "Pizza Face" the Terrible in the regard of Ravanfios. This poor soul is so opinionated that it led to terrible thrashing upon him and his wife that he will not soon forget...eehh, Raven? lol I see that you still are the King of stupid remarks!

Sosa the Terrible said...

I heard something about Revan Fios getting his mouth into trouble. Wonder what that was all about. But I'm no stranger to trouble either. The way I see it is, I as well as LR and others have the right to say what we want and complain and bitch, because we spend money on RoB. So that really pissed me off when Revan appologized on my behalf for "complaining about a FREE site they CHOOSE to use". I'm not tolerating that shit. Anyway, he appologized to me for talking out of his ass not knowning how things are. So I shall lighten my retribution on his poor soul.

Finally something that Sosa is totally right, in his previous posts he only repeats himself the same thing, but this last one is good, a 9 of 10 :P

I pay to play but i cant afford as aother people in th market

Lucidious said...

I'm curious where your stance is with this now Ash as you haven't really updated lately.

I thought of another example why it is a bad idea for the player to be able to keep their weapon if they leave a coven.

For example:

Lets say that a player wants to leave a coven and go to a different one, but has a lent set of +200/+200 weapons. They know that if they "leave" the coven, they have to return their equipment, but if they get kicked from teh coven, they get to keep it. So, the player, who has a +200 set on loan, realizes (without too much thought) that all they have to do to be able to keep the weapons is piss off the coven owners/members to get themself kicked. They get kicked, and get to keep the weapon/armour.

A truly devious person could actually make quite the business out of doing this. Stay in a coven long enough to get a good weapon/armour, and then piss them off, get kicked, and sell the armour/weapon on the market and move on to the next coven.

No matter how you look at it, it would seem to me that allowing them to keep their gear on loan is just bad business.

I would like to know where you are on your thoughts though, as this thread has gotten a little side tracked by Sosa's thread theft.

Thanks.
