In store game card idea *FEEDBACK WANTED* and more info on points

Good evening!
I've asked this game card company to give me a list of stores where their card is sold. In the UK+Europe it's all PAYPOINT shops, Nisa, Co-Op, Star etc. Anywhere that sells topups, which is basically every corner of every street of the country.

As for the US. (Which is where most of you are) Here is the list of the most popular shops the game card is in: (the game card being a card you buy in shops to be redeemed on RoB for VIP/Plasma for players who cant or dont want to use a credit card)

-  RadioShack
- Sunoco
- Marathon
- Exxon Mobil
-  Chevron
-  Wilco-Hess LLC
-  Stewarts
-  Pilot Travel Centers
-  E-Z MART
- Pacific Conv. & Fuel (dba Circle K)
- Worsley Companies DBS Scotchman's/Youngs
-  Giant Industries, Inc.
-  Wilson Farms
-  Drake Petroleum Co. Inc. DBA Xtra Mart
-  Circle K Stores Inc (Franchisee group in CA)

To all those people who took part in the survey who said they would buy game cards from shops because that cant pay with a credit card, are those stores near you?  Comment this blog. I live in the UK so have no idea what these stores are or if they're around a lot, so your feedback is appreciated.

Now onto the points...
I've had mixed feedback, which is what I've expected. Now, I have added a big yellow notice which if you take part in the offers you MUST read. Some don't work and I know it's frustrating but that's the way they are. There is no point complaining to use about it because it's out of our control. If you don't want to do them then don't do them. If you have had bad experiences with them, don't like them, don't like the idea, do NOT do them. please dont waste everyone time complaining about them telling everyone they're crap. They are working, quite a few have gone through and people have been earning quite a few points.

http://reignofblood.net/points.php < head over to the points page to take a look.

As we stand now I've added a second company (points company #1) which consists of smaller paying, quicker surveys and trials (this company allowed to me to filter out mobile phone and credit card offers so they wont show up). Each company adds new offers daily so check back each day to get the most out of it. We continue to seek out different companies and trying them out. Most importantly, if you're not happy about them, don't do them!!

We welcome constructive feedback, but complaining about them won't get anyone anywhere because nothing can be done. If you don't like them, don't do them, they're not compulasry :)

If it goes well and people use them and it's overall liked, I'll make points tradable on the market too.

Thank you for all your feedback so far, and thanks to those who took part in the small survey I released.

Yay, Prepaid cards in Co-op! Also, Because I get a 10% discount at co-op and Tesco, does that still apply? ^_^

@Jeff - It's only going to be Us+Europe these guys have these cards.

@Ekkie - Nah, I used to work in Spar and had 10% discount but I never got in on the Paypoint machine.

Anonymous said...

I got the Sunoco, Exxon,Radio Shack and Chevron!!! Good job Ash, thank you!

Angelique Vigée-Lebrun said...

Why not Wal-mart for the US? That is like, THE most popular store here. That's really the only place I shop, anyway :p

As for the points? I don't like the way to get them. I have an idea, but I'm not sure if it's good or not. It has something to do with turns.

Anonymous said...

I got a Radioshack but they couldn't get it in GameStop? Or Blockbuster? I've seen multiple cards in Blockbuster. (( Not complaining, just asking. )) **Roxas Ashymre**

Anonymous said...

We've got a Circle K in my small little town, nice job on that one Ash. :D

Anonymous said...

if i have some1 in uk purchase the card and have them send me the top up pin will that work?thanks for the points idea but *flush*

Anonymous said...

The only one near me on that list is Radio Shack. Even then it is a ways away :S

Just so you know though Game Stop seems to be everywhere now and they started to sell cards like this.

radioshacks and pilots are everywhere across the usa. pilot is one of the largest truck stops and are in every major city and alot of smaller ones. good deal if u ask me. is there going to be a mark up for the cards or will it be same price as if we bought it here

DarkAsh said...

Walmart, GameStop, and Blockbuster are another company which is not supported by this one. I do know of the company who supplies cards to these places but i don't think RoB is big enough to be accepted, although I have applied.

Anonymous said...

For Radio Shack and stores also in Canada would they be providing them? I know a lot of US stores DO NOT provide the same products (because i've been dealing with this problem for ages) so i'm just wondering.

DarkAsh said...

I'm going to aim for the same price as it currently is, due to fees etc it may be 10-20% more using these cards. It depends on the volume bought, but i want to keep it down as much as possible.

DarkAsh said...

No, I don't think they're in the Canada stores.

Anonymous said...

the idea for game cards would be great. people who cant get credit cards or prepaid credit cards could buy those. make it to where you automatically get vip days just for buying the cards. points system is great i did 4 of them and am pleasesd with the outcome

If you get this to work Ash...it would be revolutionizing

Anonymous said...

there are quite a few radio shacks in the area, what about wallgreens, rite aid or duane reade they usually carry the same cards as radio shack

DarkAsh said...

Only the stores that i've listed stock this particular card.

Dark Vixen Faize (95835) said...

I have Radioshack, Marathon, and Sunoco by me :)

Jamie (75240) said...

Radioshack would be awesome. :D I'd buy.

Guildythewicked said...

I has Radioshacks and the first bunch of Gas station marts (That's what Sunoco - Wilco-Hess are). So YAY!!

Anonymous said...

I know where RadioShack is here in the US but I have never heard of the other stores so I will stick to RadioShack.

Anonymous said...

Dont forget Walmarts, maybe Sonics.

Anonymous said...

Ash, man, this is great. You should try your guts out to get the card to be in Wal-Mart. I promise, the outcome would be amazing and worth it. That is the most popular store here in the USA, and Everyone has one in their city. I live in a small town, and we have only gas stations and a walmart. Walmart is a basic for any USA city or town.

Anonymous said...

Walmart or even Target. Both places have accessable stores here. Also in this area, Circle K has been bought out by 7 elevin. So consider that too

Anonymous said...

Bad areas and meh updates in my opinion, I don't plan on ever spending money on the game, sry but the stuff for it is costly, and I don't really buy stuff for games anyways

Anonymous said...

I can get to most of those and I already purchase those for other sites. I think its a great idea and cant wait for you to do it. I do agree walmart would be a good idea if it possible.

DarkAsh said...

I am trying to get into the company with cards in Walmart, but it depends if they accept RoB or not.

Anonymous said...

Well I don't live in USA so this doesn't benefit me at all but I'm just going to ask a question based on past experiences with other sites -- if you will be selling the cards in USA, will that mean the price of VIP/Plasma will increase? The current price of $5 (in AUS, I think) is fair but the cost of cards would make the cards almost unprofitable. Just my thoughts.

DarkAsh said...

I am not making the cards myself. RoB is no way big enough for me to do that. I'm using 3rd party companies who already have cards in shops around and they basically take a cut. (Around 20% i think)

Anonymous said...

Honestly, I live in a small town. The only one we have (well as far as I know) is Radio Shack, which is probably the one for most people, and definitely kids. So kudos for you :)

Ash if this thing really works (the cards) I think it would be AWESOME. Ob and it should increase the advirtising, cause if some kid walks into the store and sees a game card "Reign of Blood".. I think they just might be attracted to research the site and give it a try.. }=P

Anonymous said...

I am new to this game card thing how does it work. You just go buy a card and put it in here???

What are the cards called???

Sorry if I sound dumb just don't know.

Anonymous said...

Only problem is that most of the stores that are listed there is only one of those stores near here and that is at least 30 miles away but at least I can go and get them online

Guildythewicked said...

The companies have different names for them. Most are called Pre-Paid or something like that. In smaller stores they are kept with the Phone cards. In bigger stores such as Radio Shack or indeed Walgreens or Walmart, they have a few racks with various cards on them. You will see them for restaraunts, clothing stores and other games/game sites. They are easy to find usually by the registers. Some stores have them centrally located. If you can't find them just ask for the " Pre-paid cards."

How they work is you pay whatever amount is on there. Some you can choose the amount. For instance Sears will have them in selected amounts of $10, $20 $ 50 etc. Others will be blank until you tell the cashier how much. You pay for them there and they " activate it". Then, when this is set up Ash will tell us how to use em here. :)

We got Radioshack here but I dont live in the US or UK or even Canada.

DarthSpongebob 126464 said...

not complaining, just saying for "points company #1", i still only get mobile offers. there was only one offer that wasnt mobile based, which i completed.

Anonymous said...

If there is only going to be cards for the US and the UK then I say dont go for it. Or just have there prices increased. It will not be fair for people in other countries to have to have boosted prices for nothing....

Anonymous said...

I'm in the U.S. (Missouri). The closest place to me would be a Pilot (about 20 miles away) or Radioshack- about 45 miles away.

There are Circle Ks and Exxons in the city nearest to me which would be about 1 1/2 hours away.

I wouldn't have to go out of my way to pick a card up since my Husband has to drive through where the Radioshack is to go to work.

It would still be awesome if you were accepted for Walmart etc. Then it would only be about 10 minutes away to get one! =)

Walmart is where you need to be at. I hope you are able to get approved.

DarkAsh said...

The prices are out of my control when it comes to things like this. Retailers are usually greedy and want a huge chunk. And yes, I'm working hard to get into Walmart.

Anonymous said...

Awesome :) I will definitely be looking for those cards at the listed stores for the US. I think it's a great idea.

I got Radio Shack, Sunoco and Exxon! Thanks Ash!

What about Canada, we play ROB too. FYI to the person above who said Radio Shack, there are none in Canada, they are now THE SOURCE.

OuP said...

We spoke about this in chat majority of those places cover US very well, and would definatly boost your sales. Many parents(like myself) will never give a game for thier children money if it has to be paid online... But as for purchasing cards I do purchase them for my child for his games. It is an excellent Idea. Good on you ASH keep it up.

Eddy said...

Too bad the cards aren't offered in Canada, I'd have bought them :/

Radio Shack, Sunoco, Exxon, Chevron and Hess are large and nation-wide in the US. The rest are either very small or concentrated regionally. Over all you have good exposure. If you have to pay per store concept, maybe rethink the smaller ones. If it's one price, you're set.

Great idea! Good luck expanding into Wal-Mart. :)

Which game card is it? And do they sell them in canada?

Can we get the game cards in Australia?

Wal-Mart would be a good store to put the cards in, lots of people go there

Selena `Shocky` Hellsing said...

There aren't many of those stores near me, well in my town (small town), so maybe Wal-Mart? I go there a lot. Thanks, Ash! :D

I live in the dead part of the country, good ol Wyoming. And the only place off of the list that I recognize is Radioshack.

Undead Chaos Gnome™ said...

ash 7 11 is a good store to get theses cards from aswell they are nation wide just like radio shack

I was wondering if the game cards could be available in Australia? Maybe Target or Kmart?
As for the points thing, my page doesn't seem to work (though i've only tried 3 times so far).

Anonymous said...

a couple of those stores are near me but i kinda doubt they will have them considering the smallness of the town

Anonymous said...

im in and from america and ive rilly only ever heard of radio shack and there arent many near me... the most common store people go to here is Walmart

Anonymous said...

Well I Got Radio Shack And I'm Not From USA Or UK .... I'm From The Caribbean Trinidad To Be Exact

Anonymous said...

Would do the points thing if I could. Page is just solid black for me. Is it another firefox issue? Wish this site were coded to work with better firefox, IE is not as secure and lags computer horribly...

Radio Shack is somewhat near me, thanks Ash. But i must second the suggestion of Target and Kmart, if possible. Those stores cover a large area.

Never said...

What about for Canada? We have two of the listed places, but .. they were only listed for US. Does that mean it would be at ours as well?

Anonymous said...

To those who are complaining about it not being fair, if the UK and USA get to have these cards, ever heard of EBAY. I mean if this goes off, like I think it will, people will most likely buy extra cards and sell them on that site. They sell everything from pokemon cards to some kind of little kids bear cards, and a whole bunch of other items. Please stop complaining and open your minds to the possibilities. As for Ash, I believe he is doing a great job and doesn't have to do any of this for us.

The points system is a bit of a pain for me, but I will keep trying until it works.

THANK YOU ASH!!

Anonymous said...

I live in the U.S. and a lot of those that you listed sound like gas stations and convenience stores. Places like Wal-Mart or Gamestop would be great and would make more sense for the cards to be there.

Anonymous said...

I live near Radio Shack and Wilson Farms so it'll be easy for me to get them.

put cards in the stores so everyone can have chanse to get it

I live near a RadioShack but most of the other ones I've only seen a few times and the rest I've never seen at all.

Anonymous said...

how about wall mart or k mart stores? I know the wall mart near me sells other cards for other games. Most of the ones you named are at least a half hour to an hour drive from where I live if they even exsist in my area

i love the thought of being able to buy the cards in the us, but being in michigan, i don't think there are any of those around me. did you happen to look into stores like walmart, kmart and others like this? if i could find them there, i know i would buy them! :)

I'm sorry, but I didn't catch the name of the card. There is a Radio Shack near me, but I need to know which card to by. Thanks.

PS Wal-Mart, CVS Pharmacy, and Walgreens Pharmacy are like across the street from me. If you could find a card there, I would be most grateful.

Anonymous said...

I think that the R.O.B. top-up card idea is a great marketing technique, and i think you need to try to place them in a store like Wal-Mart.
They are a nationwide chain that seems to be in just about every major town, and MANY smaller towns in the U.S. But you would need a greater volume of cards to start.maybe in the future. Just a thought.
Good Luck, and TY for fixing the Refresh center, it seems to be working fine now.

I would just like to say, Ash has said he's working on getting into walmart at least 4 times, and yet, you people continually tell him about it. Has to be annoying and irritating for him. Just saying.

I am in NYC and Radio Shack is the only one from the list that I see. People use public transit essentilly and rarely enter into these gas station types stores. There are a bazzilion people here, the largest market in the US, and we have no Wal-mart. I doubt we will get one because Walmart sucks. Target is the big superstore in NYC which rocks because they donate to the Arts.

You might also want to think about offering cards through Amazon or starting a program for people to order cards as gifts. Gift cards and certificates is a market I don't believe you have tapped.

Maybe you could put them in the Burger King Twlight Crappy meals?

Flereous said...

Living in the US, there are several of those places mentioned within mere miles of my home. I am still a fan of the game card idea. though i am capable of using a credit card, i think the game cards are a smart move. especially since you could use these cards as gifts ^_^

If you are looking for something else to do in the meantime...

What to do with that alignment???

I would guess plasma, or AP. Start a trade market or something for us to cash it in for something.
How about more V.I.P. days?
Just a thought

the walmart company has stores all over the world although duly noted you all overseas don't know the stores as walmart but putting anything into that company is sure to get sales. i know this from being a previous walmart employee. wouldn't work for them again though. but target is another company that would be awesome.
